Fatal Wrong Way Crash near Magna

Late on Sunday night, April 12, there was a fatal wrong way crash near Magna.

According to Utah Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 201 near 10,000 West, when a white 2012 Ford Focus was being driven by eastbound but in the westbound lanes of the highway. The driver was 35 year old Jennifer Lynn Taylor of Stansbury Park and she was estimated to be driving over 90 mph.

Police saw the vehicle and tried to catch up with her but before they could do so she collided head on with a 2005 silver Subaru Legacy.

The Ford rolled several times and Taylor, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Subaru driver was wearing a seat belt and only suffered minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation but at this time alcohol is suspected as a factor.
