Two Teens were Killed in Crash

On the evening of Wednesday, May 20, two teens were killed and a third suffered minor injuries in a crash.

According to Sandy Police Department, the accident happened shortly after 7.30 p.m. in the area of 9652 South and 700 East. Seventeen year old Hunter Kelson was driving a four door Plymouth Neon with another 17 year old boy in the front passenger seat and 16 year old Cheyenne Bagley in the back seat.

Kelson pulled out of a side street onto 700 East and an oncoming Jeep hit them on the driver’s side of the vehicle and the Jeep then rolled over.

The two people in the Jeep were a 35 year old woman driver and a 16 year old male passenger. Both were uninjured.

In the Plymouth, Kelson and Bagley, both students at Hillcrest High School, were killed and the other passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation but police have said they do not think that alcohol, drugs or speed were factors.
